Fibre-optic Infinity broadband on-line from 1 June!

The broadband service will be upgraded from 1 June 2015. The upgraded service is BT’s fibre-optic Infinity service, which they suggest will improve matters by a factor of 10, so great news whether you are working or simply uploading holiday pics!

Update to the Myrtle House website

Just a quick note to celebrate a successful transfer of the Myrtle House website to a new platform – WordPress. With Google placing more emphasis on mobile-friendly sites, and the old platform not really being responsive, it felt like the the right time!

At this point, the content on the site is largely unchanged. We have some updates planned for the coming weeks and months, though. If there’s anything you’d like to see here that you haven’t found, or indeed any other comments, do let us know, either in the comments below or using our contact details on the left!

The Levels where all the terrible flooding has occurred are about ten miles from the house. Fortunately Myrtle House is not subject to flooding!

Wolf Hall

If you followed the BBC’s production of Wolf Hall, and are interested in seeing where it was filmed, then Myrtle House is ideally situated as a base. Montacute House (Greenwich Palace) is about 13 miles, and Barrington Court ( York Place, Whitehall) is even closer at just 5 miles. Both properties are owned by the National Trust.

Now there is a display of the costumes used in the series, at Barrington Court.
